5th International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities 2013 (WCSC 2013) “Liveable Cities Are Creative and Competitive Cities”, 24th September 2013 (Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur)
The ‘International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities’ (WCSC) series has been conceived to provide a constructive platform to enlighten, educate and change the mindsets of city stakeholders, industry players, Government agencies and general public on the key challenges faced in the planning and development of a ‘World Class City’ due to rapid urbanisation and globalisation. WCSC is aimed at supporting and collaborating with Local Councils towards promoting and achieving a ‘World Class City’ status by the year 2020 as has been detailed out in the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2020 and the Draft Kuala Lumpur City Plan 2020.
The objectives of the conference are as follows:
– To further enlighten, educate and change the mindsets of city stakeholders, industry players, Government agencies and general public on the key challenges and issues faced in promoting and achieving a ‘World Class City’ status;
– To learn and review available solutions, international best practices and experiences in the overall planning and development for the successful implementation of World Class Sustainable Cities; and
– To study the latest developments, innovations and ideas that have been implemented or practised by other World Class Sustainable Cities and its possible applicability to Malaysia’s situation.
– To offer a master class session in which world class experts will provide a hands on session for selected participants in seeking solutions for city issues.
